House IJburg

Model for a private house in IJburg, Amsterdam
2003 – built
Client: Lambert Architecten

The house, designed by Lambert Architecten, constitutes a special termination of the “Kleine Rieteiland”, part of “IJburg”, a group of artificial islands in Amsterdam.
The design opens up towards the water and panoramic view of the Diemerpark and has a closed character on the street side. This concept is strengthened by the use of materials; a concrete façade on the street side versus glass and slender steel profiles on the waterside.
The model of the design was commissioned by Lambert Architecten, whose office is situated in the triangular end of the house.
